After completing the 26.2 mile course Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk on her crutches in 2014, Devann discovered the IM ABLE Foundation and developed a passion for adaptive sports. She completed her first marathon as a handcyclist in 2015, and she has gone on to win the Women’s Handcycle Division of the 2019 Boston Marathon and the 2018, 2019, and 2021 TCS NYC Marathons.
